Hi I'm Kelly and I have recently taken over the counties of Somerset
and Dorset that was formally part of the Equus Health Wessex area. Over the last few years I have been fully involved with
the running of a garden furniture business in Somerset and now look
forward to a new challenge.
Having worked with horses on and off since leaving school. I see this
as a perfect opportunity to do what I do best - 'talk' about my favorite
subject, horses!. My great passion is hunting, I also enjoy breeding/showing
horses namely Irish Draughts. With too many horses to count and not
forgetting my jack Russell Ellie life is never dull.
I am looking forward to meeting all my customers, making new friends
and solving any problems that come along!
Supporting a Junior Endurance Star
Equus Health West Country is very proud to support Dean Brown and 'Solo'
Dean aged 11 is the current National Junior Champion for Endurance
Great Britain. His pony Solo was bought as a 3 year old for £50 guineas
from Exeter Horse Sales by Sue Lees his trainer, who picked him out
as a talented beginner when he started riding aged 6. In 2004 Sue started
taking Dean out on 34Km and 42Km rides on one of the riding school ponies
and keen to keep up with his endurance career he took Solo on loan after
falling in love with him. It took a while for them to gel as a team,
Solo was a naughty pony but over the last two years Dean & Solo have
gone from strength to strength and have many trophies, medals and rosettes
to be proud of. Sadly this is Dean's last year of competing Solo as
he will have out grown him by next season.
Luckily he has another pony, 'Chip' a 14.1hh 10year old Arab gelding
which he will compete on with Solo jointly this season. There are also
plans to breed a future endurance horse for him by the Windmill Stables
Crabbett stallion Piere out of Razzina a Pure Breed Arab mare who competes
at Open Level.
All the endurance horses at Windmill Stables are fed Equus Health supplements
which include Garlic, Linseed & Fenugreek, Soya Oil, Clivers & Marigold,
Electrolytes, Salt Licks, Equine Herbals liquid herbs from New Zealand
as well as Arnica before and after each ride.
Sue Lees has on a number of occasions asked for some advice on a problem
or two with her ponies or horses. We have been happy to assist her,
suggest products to help and have welcomed her valuable feedback. If
you have any questions about our endurance sponsorship please click
on our e-mail link and we will try to help.
